Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Wean Nicotine iOS app (“Wean Nicotine”, “the app”). The data controller is IAMJARL.

Data stored on your device

Wean Nicotine is local‑first. The app stores your information on your iPhone (and does not require an account).

  • Usage logs (e.g., “Used a pouch”, “Resisted craving”, with timestamps)
  • Settings (baseline pouches/day, reduction plan parameters, optional triggers, optional price and currency)
  • Preferences (theme, notification toggles and times)

What we do not do

  • No accounts or login
  • No ad tracking
  • No selling personal data

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Wean Nicotine uses local notifications on your device (subject to your iOS permissions) for features like daily check‑ins and reminders.

Third‑party services

If enabled in the build, Wean Nicotine uses Sentry for crash and error reporting to help us improve app stability. Sentry receives exception messages, stack traces, and basic device/app context (app version, device model, OS version) plus screen-transition timing for performance monitoring. Your pouch logs, plan settings, baseline, price, currency, and triggers are never sent to Sentry — this is enforced both by how we call Sentry and by an automatic scrubber that strips known sensitive fields before transmission. We do not use Sentry for advertising.

Website analytics

This website (https://weannicotine.iamjarl.com) uses Umami, a privacy‑friendly web analytics tool, to understand which pages are visited and which referrers send traffic. It is loaded on every page of this site only — never inside the app.

  • No cookies. Umami does not store any cookie or local-storage entry on your device.
  • No personal data. No IP addresses, fingerprints, or unique IDs are collected. Page-view counts and referrer hostnames are recorded in aggregate.
  • No cross-site tracking. Umami cannot follow you to other sites and does not feed any ad network.
  • No GDPR consent banner. Because nothing personal is collected and no cookie is set, no consent is required under GDPR / ePrivacy. We deliberately avoid the cookie wall.
  • Self-hosted instance at umami-iamjarl.vercel.app. No third party receives the data.

Data retention

Your data stays on your device unless you delete the app or use “Start Over” inside the app to delete local data and return to onboarding.
